I enjoy doing pour art that uses acrylic paint with an additive that prevents the colors from blending creating interesting patterns. I like seeing the different mix of colors and that no 2 paintings are the same, no matter how many paintings you create with the same colors. I like being able to paint on different materials like wood and canvas and in the future, I intend to experiment on tiles. In preparation for this show, I experimented with a press technique to utilize the surplus paint, from the drippings from the pour art which would otherwise be wasted. Some of the painting using this technique are Monet’s Garden, Central Park and Flower Petals, to name a few. I was first introduced to this artistic technique here at First Presbyterian Church of Brighton by Danielle Neely and I am ever so grateful.
